A very good friend (or used to be, ha!) posted a comment on my last post. He said, and I quote, "Dude, you're old." I don't agree, but I am, as we all are, headed there. That has inspired me to become fore active. Or just active. I've noticed over that last few months I have less room to move in my clothes than I used to. If it wasn't for the Rooster League I'd be a lot worse off.
The Rooster League is what I call the group of guys I play basketball with every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I've given us that name because we play at 6 a.m. The Rooster crows and we get up and play ball. Some mornings I think we are on the court before he even makes a sound.
Until recently I've been "by far" the youngest player in the Rooster League. I'd love say that I take those old guys to school, but that'd be a bold faced lie. They may be "season" but they can play. They have those sneaky old school moves.
More important than the basketball (and I desperately need the exercise) , the fellowship with these guys is awesome. They are all great guys, passionate about Jesus Christ. We pray together before we leave each morning. There's no better way to start a day than with a good game of basketball and a conversation with God.
Here's to many more mornings with The Rooster League!!
