We've made people feel like they need to have the resume of Tony Soprano in order to have a powerful testimony. Those who have made "minor" mistakes throughout their life, and tried to always honor God, feel like sharing their testimony is going to bore people. Yesterday I heard the testimony of a friend who felt like she had very little to offer through her testimony. However, hers may have been one of the most powerful I've ever heard. It pointed to a God who had consistently been there for her. A God who had been so prevalent in her life that she could not recall a moment when He wasn't there. Wow! If that doesn't get you interested in her God I'm not sure what will. And that's what testimonies are supposed to do. They are supposed to inspire people. They are supposed to turn people's attention toward God. They are supposed to show the world that you have something they need. Hannah's testimony did all those things. Everyone who heard about God's complete and empowering presence in her life left thanking God for the same in theirs or wondering how they could experience the same.
Never shy away from an opportunity to give voice to who God is and what He is doing. God does do anything boring. Like Hannah, we all have to testify!

Thanks for the encouraging shout out! Even though I don't always appear to be excited about telling others about HIM, it helps when people encourage me to do that!! He deserves it after all!!!!!

Testify. That word can be a scary word. Just think of the use of the word in the court system. Kind of scary? People looking at your all around you. Staring right at you.
When we testify to our faith it may be scary at times but just think of all the things that we as followers of Christ have came from. Christ died for us all. We have something to testify too. It doesn't matter if you have been a christian your whole life or if you have been a raging acoholic for the most part of your life and now you are clean. We all have a testimony. Hannah, Your testimony was great and really encouraged me in how I am to live my life. I love you so much. God is using you where you are planted. Matt, you're the man. Ok that was random but hey it's ok.
