TGIF

Does any one remember TGIF? No, not just that these letters stand for "Thank goodness it's Friday". ABC used to have a set of tv shows that were called TGIF. Every Friday at 8 o'clock that block of tv would begin. It included such classics as Family Matters, Full House, and Just the 10 of Us. Other shows rotated in and out. For some reason they wrapped up the night with 20/20. So Barbara Walters followed Stever Urkel. Wierd!

When I was a kid I looked forward to Fridays and TGIF. This week I have looked foward to Friday like I did back then. Our church has had VBS this week. Tonight it comes to an end. TGIF!!! I now know why God didn't call me to do children's ministry. I love kids, but it takes a special person to be able to handle large numbers of children for long periods of time.

To those of you who serve as children's pastors or teachers or any other vocation that works with large groups of children on a daily bases: GOD BE WITH YOU!!
