Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Matthew 28:18-20 (NIV)
These are words I've heard and read more times than I can remember. Recently I've found new meaning in them. When Jesus said "go" what did he really mean? Most of us think Jesus meant we are to find a destination and when we get there we are to be His witnesses. Wrong!!! This word "go" is actually better translated, "while you are going". We are to be witnessing throughout the journey, not waiting until we hit a certain destination. "While we are going" about our daily lives we are to be focused on exposing people to the person of Jesus Christ. If you are waiting to get somewhere before you begin influencing people for Jesus you are going to run out of time. "While you are going" to school, to work, or wherever your headed, make disciples!!
